375 km of Bulgarian Black Sea coast — from Durankulak on the northern border with Romania to Rezovo on the southern with Turkey. Warm water (24–26°C in summer), fine beaches, very budget-friendly prices compared to Greece, Croatia or Italy. Season: June–September.

🏛️ Central Coast

  • Nesebar (UNESCO) — old town on peninsula with 40 medieval churches, narrow cobbled streets. Touristy but beautiful.

  • Pomorie — spa resort with therapeutic mud from the liman lagoons, medieval Transfiguration Monastery, wineries.
  • Burgas — industrial city but beautiful centre, Sea Garden, salt museum at nearby Atanasovsko Lake.

🐠 Southern Coast (less touristy)

  • Sozopol — old town on peninsula, more authentic than Nesebar. Wooden revival houses, beaches, fish restaurants. Archaeological Museum.
  • Dyuni — reserved resort with fine beaches and nature reserve.
  • Primorsko, Kiten, Lozenets — smaller resorts, cheaper, more Bulgarian tourists.
  • Sinemorets, Rezovo — wild beaches near the Turkish border, minimal infrastructure.

📅 When to go

  • June: water still cool (20–22°C), but few tourists, cheap prices.
  • July–August: peak season, water 25–27°C, crowds, prices 2× higher.
  • September: water still warm (23°C), few tourists, prices drop. RECOMMENDED.
  • May and October: water too cold for swimming, but nice for walks.
